Giant Interactive Water Table

The Giant Interactive Water Table is the centerpiece of any water gallery — a large, custom-shaped basin alive with moving water and packed with hands-on stations. Visitors crank water wheels, lift water with Archimedes screws, open and close dams, launch floating balls down winding runs and race currents from one end of the table to the other. Every station rewards experimentation, and because the table is continuous, one child's action ripples into the next visitor's play.

Each water table is designed from scratch for its venue: the footprint, height, theming and mix of interactions are all tailored to your space and audience. We have delivered five giant water tables to date, from science center galleries to large indoor play areas, each one unique.

Visitor experience

Water tables are naturally social. A dozen visitors can play at once, each absorbed in their own experiment yet constantly affecting the shared flow. Typical interactions include:

• Water wheels — divert the current to set wheels spinning and discover how moving water carries energy.
• Archimedes screws — crank a giant screw and watch it lift water uphill, an engineering classic made hands-on.
• Ball runs — launch floating balls through channels, gates and whirlpools, then send them round again.
• Dams and gates — hold the water back, build up pressure, then release the flood.
• Fountains and jets — trigger sprays and geysers to explore pressure and flow.
• Vortex stations — spin the water into a whirlpool and watch objects get drawn in.

What visitors learn

Beneath the play, the table is a live physics lab. Visitors experience flow and current, water pressure, buoyancy, energy transfer and simple machines — asking questions, making predictions and testing them in seconds. It is STEM learning at its most direct: no instructions needed, no reading required.

Engineered for real venues

Every table runs on a closed recirculation system with filtration, so it needs only power and a water connection or self-contained reservoir. Surfaces are durable and easy to clean, splash zones are managed with edge profiles and drainage flooring, and station heights suit toddlers through adults. We install on-site with our own team and support the exhibit long after opening day.
